Documentary Association Georgia

presents:
Architecture and Design Workshop for Independent Cinemas and Cultural Spaces
June 15-17, 2023
The workshop is for film exhibitors, cultural managers and architect.
The main goal of the workshop is to develop architectural projects that enhance the audience's experience of art, create a hangout-friendly atmosphere, and contribute to the sustainability of the place.
The workshop will be led by Jean-Marc Lalo, a seasoned French architect with 20 years of experience in designing urban spaces, such as art centers, cinemas, theaters, and restaurants.
On the first day of the workshop, we'll embark on a city tour to explore and map cultural spaces in Tbilisi. The second day will be filled with knowledge-sharing from Jean-Marc Lalo, who will imparts tips, tricks, and insights that are unique to cinemas and cultural spaces. Participants will form teams and work on real or imaginary projects, which will be publicly presented on the third day.
The workshop is a way to improvise, gain new knowledge, cross paths with people from other professions, develop your artistic space (if you have one) and dream of an independent cinema that will one day become a reality.
Working language of the workshop is English.
This workshop is brought to you by Documentary Association Georgia (DOCA Georgia) in partnership with Tbilisi Architecture Biennial, with support from the French Institute, Tbilisi City Hall, the European Union through the EU4Culture project, Goethe Institute, and TBC Concept.
