Rules, Terms, and Stages of Membership in the DOCA Documentary Film Association

An applicant for membership shares and agrees with the following values and rules:

 

1. Internationally recognized principles of democracy and human rights.
The applicant or their work does not intentionally incite violence, misogyny, racism, homophobia, chauvinism, or any other form of discrimination;

 

2. Respects differing opinions;

3.Approaches membership responsibly and, whenever possible, is actively involved in activities important to the development of the Association (for example, participating in elections of the Supervisory Board);

 

4. In the event of disagreement or differing positions related to the Association’s activities, first addresses the issue with the Association’s Supervisory Board or management team, and acts with care toward the organization’s public image;

 

5. Agrees to pay the annual membership fee of 150 GEL upon joining the Association.

An applicant must meet the following conditions:

 

1.Be a citizen of Georgia.
(In the case of a non-citizen, membership is possible by invitation of the Association if the applicant’s professional activity in cinema is connected to Georgia.)

 

2. Either:

a) Has worked or is working on at least one documentary film/project that has been presented at at least one international film festival or platform
(eligible positions include: author, director, lead producer, executive producer, line producer, cinematographer, sound designer, editor, or composer);

or

b) Is involved in activities related to the development and distribution of documentary cinema
(positions include: festival representative, distributor, sales agent, TV/online platform editor, or other related roles).

The applicant must complete the following simple steps:

  1. Fill out the electronic application form;

  2. After membership approval by the Association, the membership candidate will receive an official application document, which must be signed, and the annual membership fee of 150 GEL must be paid;

  3. The payment receipt and signed application must be sent by email to info@doca.ge
    Email subject line: “Membership – First Name Last Name”

Note: If membership is granted in December 2022, the membership fee payment will be due starting from April 1.

Information about the member will be published on the Association’s website within 10 calendar days of joining.
