
Sopho Chkheidze
director
Sopho Chkheidzé is a filmmaker and documentary director from Georgia. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Audio-Visual and Media Arts from GIPA. Her work explores the intersections of fiction and non-fiction.
She has worked as a web editor and video content creator at Indigo magazine and collaborated with the NGO StudioMobile – Accent on Action on documentary projects centered on women’s rights and underrepresented communities, organizing screenings and workshops across Georgia. As a Chai Khana fellow, she directed the short film One of Us Is Dead: Story of a Carpet (2024).
Currently, she is the Program Director of Caucasus Cinema, an international filmmaking intensive, and the producer of the long-form narrative podcast Taxi Taxi. Alongside several short and multimedia projects, she is developing her first feature-length films, including Bird of Passage, a documentary about Georgia’s maritime culture.
