Niniko Lekishvili

director

Niniko Lekishvili is a documentary filmmaker and editor from Georgia whose work blends personal storytelling with social and political themes. A Chevening Scholar and graduate of Goldsmiths, University of London (MA in Screen Documentary), Niniko explores identity, conflict, and humor in her films. Her short documentary Tick Tock received the Jury's Special Prize for Creativity and Self-Expression at the Cinedoc Tbilisi International Documentary Film Festival and was a finalist at the Watersprite Film Festival. Niniko's work often centers on marginalized voices, including her recent film on a comedian in a wheelchair (sabawithwheels), which won a short documentary competition. Her films reflect the influence of Niniko's second profession as a stand-up comedian, as she loves to integrate comedy and stand-up into her own films.
