
Mariam Chachia
director, producer
Mariam Chachia is a documentary film director and producer from Georgia. Her film career began in 2007 with a short children's TV series called Rubber. In 2013, she directed her first documentary film in co-production with the French company Ardèche Images Production. In 2016, Mariam completed her first feature-length documentary Listen to the Silence, which had its world premiere at DOK Leipzig and won the Golden Dove in the Next Masters Competition.
Mariam is also the producer of the films Water Has No Borders (directed by Maradia Tsaava) and Respublika (directed by Tinatin Emiridze and Khvicha Emiridze).
Her latest film Magic Mountain, which she co-directed with Nik Voigt, premiered at DOK Munich and has won numerous awards at international film festivals.
Alongside her directing and producing work, Mariam has been mentoring emerging documentary filmmakers for the past five years. She has served as a jury member at various film festivals and has participated in numerous international workshops and programs.
