Levan Lomjaria

director

Levan Lomjaria studied at the Shota Rustaveli State University of Theatre and Film in Tbilisi, after which he continued his studies in London, in the 16 mm film program at the New York Film Academy. He earned his Master of Fine Arts degree through the Sarajevo Film Academy / film.factory program, where his mentor was the renowned Hungarian director Béla Tarr.

Since 2015, Lomjaria has been working as a filmmaker and has since directed several short, independent, zero-budget experimental films, documentaries, and visual installations, which have been shown at various international film festivals. From 2015 to 2023, he served as the Head of the International Department / Film Promotion at the Georgian National Film Center, where he was responsible for the promotion, sales, and festival representation of Georgian films.

Levan Lomjaria currently lives in New York and is working on the feature films No Place Like Home and Transmission.
