
Ketevan Kipiani

Ketevan Kipiani studied sociology before earning her master’s degree in Cultural Studies from the Jagiellonian University in Krakow.
In 2012, she joined the Tbilisi-based production company Sakdoc Film, where she became deeply involved in the film industry as both an assistant director and a producer. Over the years, she has contributed her expertise to a variety of projects, including Let the Summer Never Come Again (2016) as assistant director; Taming the Garden (2021) as line producer; and What Do We See When We Look at the Sky (2021) and How the Room Felt (2021) and as producer. Her last film The Kartli Kingdom (2025) premiered at IDFA and earned the Best Directing Award.
Her documentary short film (“It Will Be Better Before”) as a director premiered at the Visions du Réel film festival and has traveled to various other festivals.
Beyond her hands-on work in filmmaking, Ketevan serves as the executive director of the Documentary Film Association (DOCA). Together with her colleagues, she continues to shape a strong and sustainable community of documentary film professionals, actively influencing the evolving landscape of Georgian documentary cinema.
