Anuka Lomidze

Anuka Lomidze - born in 1985 in Tbilisi. The main profession is a film journalist. Doctoral student of Ilia State University, lecturer in experimental film, video art and documentary cinema.


Since 2011, she has been leading courses in state and private art schools. Manages several projects in social, environmental, non-formal education and arts, both in Tbilisi and in the regions. Since 1999, she has been cooperating with media and contemporary art festivals as a co-author, program coordinator, curator and member of the competition jury. Since 2011, she has been managing the non-governmental organization "Ahuahu - Foundation for Culture", main activities of which include projects co-authored by her: the contemporary art magazine "Caucasus Art Mag", the regional civic film project "Free Film Screenings", "Cinema Opportunities - for Activist Women", " Culture as a language for communication", "Network of green cinema clubs", "Visual memory of April 9" etc.  Since 2014, she was a teacher of the first-second streams of the Georgian National Film Center project, "Cinema in School", co-editor of "Filmprint" magazine, co-author of the discussion project, "Sherekilebi" film club. In 2020, Nikola Burio's "Relational Aesthetics" was published in Georgian with the translation of her and the partner author. Since 2020, she has been cooperating with the EU/UNESCO "Creative Clusters Ecosystem Development" project in Georgia as a board member, local expert.

Since 2021, she is the co-founder and head of the non-profit organization - "Cube In Context" - a cultural and social enterprise, which was located in a building used for an abandoned Soviet cable car, opened in May 2022.

Since 2023, together with associates, she has been working on the idea of restoring the abandoned small cinema in Mziuri Park and turning it into a municipal cinema space, under the working name "Lokokino".
